Born in Sicily in 1993, he receives at 20 years old the 1st Grand Prix “Buffet Crampon” at the Concours Debussy International Competition in Paris (2014). In the same competition he obtains Sacem Prize for the best interpretation of the contemporary piece Sur la Neige by Philippe Hersant and the Cyrille Mercadier Prize given by the CRR Paris student's association. He wins also the 1st prize at 24th Thomas Kuti International Clarinet Competition in Augsburg, Città di Carlino International Clarinet Competition, International Music Competition "Salzburg" Grand Prize Virtuoso performing in the prestigious Mozarteum Wiener Saal, Salzburg and at the Golden Classical Music Awards in Carnegie Hall, New York. He has been awarded at Ghent International Clarinet Competition and receives an honorable mention in Prague Spring International Clarinet Competition
Andrea regularly plays as guest principal clarinet with important orchestras as Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Swedish Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, The Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, Orchestre National d’Auvergne, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma under the baton of some of the most important music directors in the world like Charles Dutoit, Philippe Jordan, Hannu Lintu, François-Xavier Roth, Michael Schonwandt.
He performed as soloist with Brussels Philarmonic et l’Orchestre National de Montpellier and in several chamber music festivals as Radio France Montpellier and Svetlanov – Universe in Moscow.
He studied with Calogero Palermo (principal clarinet Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra) and is graduated in Masters of soloist and orchestral performance at the Haute Ecole de Musique of Geneva with Romain Guyot (principal clarinet Chamber Orchestra of Europe).
Andrea is the Artistic Director of Festival de clarinette de Montpellier. He plays Buffet Crampon RC Prestige clarinets.
