Masaharu Yamamoto

Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University of the Arts, Specially Appointed Professor at Musashino Academia Musicae, Former Principal Instrumentalist of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, and former Principal Instrumentalist of the New Japan Philharmonic.
Yamamoto graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. He studied under Jost Michaels at the Northwest German Music Academy (Hochschule für Musik, Detmold), and passed the national soloist exam with the highest grades. Yamamoto took 1st place in the 41st Music Competition, and 2nd place in the woodwind trio division of the Colmar International Chamber Music Competition, woodwind trio category. He is also a former solo clarinetist of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra (Deutsche Oper am Rhein). She is a former New Japan Philharmonic principal player. Yamamoto is the president of the Japan Clarinet Society (J.C.S.), Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University of the Arts, and Specially Appointed Professor at Musashino Academia Musicae.
