Megumi Wakabayashi

Representative of Woodwind Quintet Colorful, member of Megumi♡Kei, JPCO (Japan Popular Classic Orchestra), and Kimizuka TRIO.

Wakabayashi is a clarinet, wind synthesiser EWI, and ocarina player. She graduated from Senzoku Gakuen School of Music with an award of excellence, appearing in the graduation concert and the Yamaha Wind Instruments Debut Concert. After winning the 1st place at the 5th Clarinet Ensemble Competition, she made her major debut as part of a unit called "Colorful", releasing four albums with King Records and two albums with Universal Music. The scores for all their songs have been published as a tie-up. Their original piece, COLOR PALETTE, was the first by a Japanese clarinetist to be selected for Buffet Crampon's music app, Urban Play, and she has also published many arrangements of sheet music through Rocket Music, including a clarinet instruction book. She also serves as a judge for wind band competitions, and is active in teaching younger students.
Wakabayashi is also active in TV and commercial appearances, recordings, live performances, and tours, including her work as a clarinet instructor for TV Asahi's Zawa Tsuku! Friday. She is an endorser of the Akai Professional EWI. She is the leader of Woodwind Quintet Colorful, a member of Megumi♡Kei, JPCO (Japan Popular Classic Orchestra), and Kimizuka Trio.
