Young Chinese Clarinetist/Vice Principal Clarinetist of the Central Ballet Orchestra
In 2000, Wang Long was admitted to the Primary School Affiliated to Wuhan Conservatory of Music and studied under the clarinet educator Professor Wang Qichen. He won the first place in the clarinet group of the 2nd TOYOMA Asian Youth Music Competition (Henan region). In 2003, Wang Long was directly admitted to the High School Affiliated to Wuhan Conservatory of Music with the first place in the orchestra group.
In 2010, Wang Long was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music with excellent grades and studied under the clarinet educator Professor Yuan Yuan. During this period, Wang Long served as principal clarinet of the China Youth Symphony Orchestra, and was favored and supported by the Edifier Musicians Fund and won awards in a series of major domestic and international competitions.
In 2012, Wang Long participated in the 42nd Belgrade International Youth Clarinet Competition and won the fourth place. In 2014, Wang Long won first place in the Hong Kong International Youth Clarinet Competition. At the Central Conservatory of Music, Wang Long worked in collaboration with the China Philharmonic Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra, National Ballet Symphony Orchestra, Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, etc., and went on to well-known music schools and top orchestras in Germany, the United States, Italy, Japan for exchanges, has emerged to showcase himself in major events such as the first Chinese Opera Festival. In 2014, Wang Long was admitted to the National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra after getting through fierce competition, and quickly rising to become deputy principal clarinet and join the Wotan Woodwind Quintet. In April 2018, Wang Long visited North Korea as a member of the Chinese Art Troupe and performed in the cultural exchange event titled the 31st "April Spring" International Friendship Art Festival; in 2019, Wang Long performed in a series of major events, such as the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and toured the country with The Wotan Woodwind Quintet and received high praises.
