Peruvian clarinetist Luis Enrique Vargas Guevara is a graduate of the National University of Music of Peru and has established himself as one of the country’s leading clarinetists. He served as principal clarinetist of the National Symphony Orchestra of Peru from 2010 to 2020, and from 2020 to 2023 was the principal arranger for the Symphonic Band of the Peruvian Navy. In 2024, he assumed the role of conductor of the Callao Regional Symphony Orchestra, contributing his experience and artistic vision to the development of the regional musical scene.
An artist for the prestigious brands Buffet Crampon, Vandoren Paris, and BG France, Maestro Vargas balances his performance career with a strong commitment to pedagogy, serving as clarinet professor at the National University of Music. He is regularly invited as a guest lecturer and instructor at international festivals and courses.
In 2012, he was awarded third place at the IWWF competition in Iowa, USA. Since then, he has maintained a consistent presence on international stages and music gatherings, solidifying his career as a performer, arranger, conductor, producer, and mentor to new generations of musicians.
