Clarinet teacher at the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico
Alejandro Moreno is a clarinetist in the National Clarinet Quartet of Mexico, Due Voci Ensemble (clarinet and guitar), and Maderaire Ensemble (woodwind quartet), and a clarinet professor in the undergraduate and graduate programs at the National Conservatory of Music since 2013.
He earned his Bachelor's degree in clarinet performance at the National Conservatory of Music (1989-2000) under clarinetist Luis Humberto Ramos. He completed his Master's degree in clarinet interpretation (2001-2003) and his Doctorate in bass clarinet interpretation (2003-2006) with a project titled "The Evolution of the Bass Clarinet, 20th Century Repertoire, and the Mastery of New Techniques for Its Performance," both at the Université de Montréal under clarinetist André Moisan.
From 2007 to 2015, he was a full-time research professor at the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo. From September 1997 to July 1999, he was a clarinetist in the Symphony Orchestra of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo. From May 2005 to April 2006, he was a clarinetist in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Acapulco, and a clarinetist in the Mining Symphony Orchestra during their summer seasons in 2015 and 2016.
He has been selected as one of Trajectoire's scenic creators for the period from 2017 to 2019. From September 2012 to October 2021, he was General Director of the Hidalgo State School of Music, an institution of higher education under the Hidalgo State Secretariat of Culture.
His career as a concert performer and chamber musician has made him one of the most productive musicians of his generation, with a catalogue of 18 compact discs, including works dedicated to him by Mexican composers.
